workshop goals In today’s international business world employees face numerous challenges in English, from meetings and phone calls to social situations. This workshop equips participants with the linguistic tools which enable them to manage these situations with confidence.
what is a workshop?Workshops are designed for practicing English in a business context. At least half of the workshop time is spent learning the English language itself and on the improvement of grammar, conversation ability and vocabulary. For courses with a focus on specific communication skills (e.g. presentations or negotiations) please see our seminar offering under coaching.
contentEach workshop covers a selection of the topics below.
- Meetings in English: getting your point across, agreeing & disagreeing
- Telephoning in English
- Professional correspondence in English
- Social English & small talk in business
- Relevant grammar (e.g. modals and conditionals), clearly explained and immediately useable
The small group size allows each participant to receive intensive feedback and maximises active speaking time. Real-life situations are role-played (with video feedback) to give participants the chance to experience and work on typical scenarios.
This workshop is aimed at employees who use English in a business context or are preparing to do so. Our pre-workshop interview ensures that participants have a similar language level. The minimum language level requirement for this workshop is Upper Intermediate. For participants with a lower language level or more specific needs on one topic, we recommend our workshops English for Telephoning and English for Meetings.
